Andy Carroll - Update he is now injured
If it is true that Chelsea want AC I pray we don't get greedy. His value is nothing. He's worth nothing. He's quite simply the worst transfer we've had in the modern era.

So worse than......

Robert Snodgrass
Harvard Nordtveit
Sofiane Feghouli
Alvaro Arbeloa
Jonathan Calleri
Gokhan Tore
Simone Zaza
Diego Poyet
Emmanuel Emmanike
Nikica Jelavic
Matt Jarvis
Modibo Maiga
Mauro Zarate
Nene
Morgan Amalfitano
Alou Diarra
Marco Borriello
Antonio Nocerino
Roger Johnson
Mladen Petric

....all signed since Andy Carroll joined the club (and I've been very generous to quite a few others who could easily be on this list).

But yeah, sure, Andy Carroll has contributed less than this lot to our cause?

If we can swap him for Michy that’d be an incredible bit of business.

Did anyone say he was worse or better than those on that list ?

This represents a seismic opportunity for our club

Sell him and develop a more pacey, skilful, threat up front

On his day unplayable.......unfortunately his days are as regular as Christmas Days !

Re: Andy Carroll
I'm pretty ambivalent when it comes to Carroll, but just feel if an offer was actually forthcoming (and it's decent) it has to be worth taking as we won't get another decent one before his contract is up. If we do say no he'll only get crocked again.

Re: Andy Carroll
Spot on Burns, knowing us he will go there and do well, being available for most of their games. But, if we don't take the chance to get rid then of course he will be injured and out for the season for us.

Re: Andy Carroll
Unplayable as in wins a few headers and generally has an awful touch?

Nene. Completely forgot about him, and it was only a couple of years ago as well. Some of the has-beens we've had over the years were amazing in their prime!

Unplayable as in you can never play the fucking donkey because he's injured.

Two pretty important goals though, tbh.

I'd be inclinded to agree in letting him go, if Carroll and Hernandez were fit and scoring goals on a regular basis.

Re: Andy Carroll
At some point he is going to have to think about his next contract, we're not going to offer him a new one so he needs to show he can play more that one game before being injured for 6 otherwise we'll end up seeing him do punditry on Sky as no side will take on a sick note worse than Darren Anderton. Can't think which would be worse!

Re: Andy Carroll
Let's be honest and say if he wasn't injured all the time and played 30 games a season then he would definitely be a first name on the team sheet and be worth 15 to 20 goals a season for us.

The more he played and the team played with and around him the better he would be, there is no denying that when he gets a run of games he is a massive asset to us.

However unfortunately for him and for us that run of games is very far and few between and it would be nice for us to buy a striker that can play regular and score goals.

But then i suppose every club in the league wants that...
